I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry.
He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.
He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD.
(Psalm 40:1-3)

Opportunities to Serve
There are many ways to serve in the Worship Arts ministry here at Gayton, but the most important way you can participate in worship is to join us as we seek to worship God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength.
- The Gayton Choir leads the congregational songs of worship most weeks during the 11:00am Blended Service, as well as leading a worshipful anthem.
Rehearsing on Wednesdays at 7:45pm - Our Lead Singers lead the congregational songs of worship each week in our 9:45am Contemporary and 11:00 Blended Services.
Rehearsing on Tuesdays at 6:00pm - The Worship Band for our 9:45am Contemporary Service typically consists of piano, electric guitars, bass guitar, and drums. We are blessed to have many student and adult instrumentalists who comprise our Worship Band, providing the accompaniment for the congregational songs of worship and special musical selections.
Rehearsing on Tuesdays at 6:30pm - The Handbell Choir makes a joyful noise in our 11:00am Blended Service once a month.
Rehearsing on Sundays - We also seek to utilize several orchestral instruments in our services. Trumpets, trombones, violins, and flutes enhance the music we offer to God.
- Helping our congregation to worship the Lord is not relegated to musicians or paid staff! There are many opportunities to serve on Sunday mornings as we gather for worship:
- preparing the Worship Center for Sunday’s Worship Services
- creating visual art for the Worship Center
- decorating the Worship Center
- offering administrative help to the Worship Arts Pastor
- assisting in the preparation of the Communion elements
- designing and running the visual presentations which appear on the screens
- operating the sound board
- communicating truth through drama
- reading Scripture
- sharing your faith story with the congregation
- leading the congregation in prayer
Worship Arts Ministries for Youth and Children
An exciting ministry at Gayton is our CREATE Worship Arts Program. Middle and high school students gather to create something for the purpose of sharing it with their peers during their youth group. Students can sign up for one of several tracks. The vision of CREATE is to inspire a vision in students that God can use their gifts to help others worship Him.
Gayton offers a variety of musical opportunities for children. Our children share two musical dramas each year. In addition to singing and acting, the children participate in visual art to help prepare for the production of each musical.
Students of all ages regularly collect the Offering in our Worship Services. Virtually every Sunday morning in our 9:45 Contemproary Service at least one of our high school students helps lead worship. Gayton places a tremendous value on equipping our young people to lead our church in worship.
Visual Arts
A growing ministry at Gayton is our Visual Arts Ministry. We are all blessed by the artistry our members and attenders have created to express God’s truth and beauty. Click here to view samples of artwork created by artists in our congregation.
